Principal Mixed Signal CMOS Design Engineer

Description:

Ihis position will be responsible for the design, verification, and transfer to production of integrated circuit products that perform MEMS sensor signal detection and signal processing functions. The successful candidate will have extensive design experience for a variety of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks such as amplifiers, temperature sensors, precision bandgap references, high voltage charge pumps, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, sigma-delta modulators, and IO cells. He/she should have a proven ability to develop the micro-architecture of the mixed signal section of an IC, develop high level Matlab system models, work across the analog and digital domains, and act as the design lead for a complete IC project.

Requirements:

  • Experience as IC lead for several projects with demonstrated success
  • Demonstrated ability to develop micro-architectures and high level Matlab system models
  • Proven track record of designing low power, low noise, high precision CMOS analog circuits that have been manufactured in high volumes.
  • Strong skills in designing and mentoring designers in analog/mixed-signal blocks (e.g. op-amps, bandgap references, regulators, charge pumps, ADCs, biasing circuits, oscillator circuits, PLL blocks, etc.)
  • A proven methodology for scripting simulations and developing a simulation validation plan for block level and top level
  • Ability to guide a team in top level integration, block and top level layout, and LVS/DRC physical verification checks through to a tapeout release
  • Experience with design for test approaches and development of characterization and production test plans
  • Lab and test equipment skills for the debug, characterization, and validation of designs
  • Proficiency with Cadence IC design tools (Spectre / Virtuoso), Verilog and MatLab
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective and clear written and oral communications.
  • MSEE or PhD with at least 7 years industry experience in Analog or Mixed Signal CMOS circuit design

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of continuous-time and discrete-time circuits and control loops
  • PLL design experience
  • Experience with sensor signal processing and solid understanding of design for testability in Analog/Mixed Signal CMOS circuit
