MEMS Test Development Engineer [Department Code 1004]

Description:


MEMS test development engineer will be responsible for development of test procedures and characterization routines for MEMS motion sensing products. This position requires a deep understanding of MEMS device operation. These devices include gyros, accels, magnetometers, pressure sensors and resonators. The candidate should be able to lead the software developers to implement the tests. The candidate should be able to optimize the test procedures for reduced test time and high accuracy. Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies and tools is a must. This position also requires very good communication and interpersonal skills because the candidate will be interfacing with CMOS and MEMS design groups.

Desired Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum MS in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Minimum 5 year experience in test development
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead junior engineers
  • Strong understanding of MEMS device operation (resonance behavior, electrostatic actuation and detection), design and fabrication
  • Strong understanding and practical knowledge of signal processing
  • Fluency in one of the following software languages: VB, C, C++, C#
  • Hands on experience with bench testing and characterization
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to drive and analyze complex equations
  • Fluency in using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, function generators digital multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with Matlab
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop test procedures and solutions
  • Ability and desire to learn product technology and performance is a MUST

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • PhD in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Hands on MEMS device design and fabrication experience
  • Familiarity with SPI/I2C and GPIB interfaces
  • Technical knowledge of ATE test systems and architectures
  • Previous experience writing ATE or characterization test procedures
